CHAMBERSBURG, PA –This July, the Franklin County Penn State Extension Building will come alive with the sounds of laughter, discovery, and youthful curiosity as the Franklin County 4-H presents their 2025 Day Camp!

The camp is serving youth aged 8 – 12 years old. Running from July 14 through July 18,
2025, from 9 a.m. to noon each day, this immersive camp experience invites local youth to
explore the diverse and dynamic world of 4-H through hands-on learning, creative expression, and
leadership development.

With a theme of “Exploring the World of 4-H,” this year’s camp promises a week of unforgettable
experiences across five core areas: Animal Science, Expressive Art, Healthy Living, Environmental
Science, and Leadership Development. Each day is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence,
and foster friendships—all while having fun.

For Animal Science, youth will learn about both livestock animals and pets! They will learn about
the different species of livestock and the products they give us. They will learn about pets and how
to care for them, as well as fun activities related to both.

The Expressive Art Day will include Art, Music, Writing, Speech, and Dance. Children will learn how to express themselves through these art components. During Healthy Living Day, youth will explore and learn about healthy eating options and how to live a balanced lifestyle. They will learn about the nutrients in the food they eat every day and learn about how different foods provide for their bodies’ different needs.

For Environmental Science, topics covered include growing plants, where they will plant a seed of their
own, water filtration, and a soil layers lesson. Lastly, for Leadership Development, kids’ leadership
skills will be put to the test. We will explore the definition of leadership and have kids learn what it
means to be a leader in their own lives.

The camps are open to all youth ages 8-12 in Franklin, Cumberland, Adams, Perry, and Fulton
counties. We encourage 4-H members, as well as non-members, to come and learn about how
they can benefit and have fun within the 4-H program!

Each day of camp includes a snack, giving campers the energy they need to stay active and
engaged. The camp is designed to be inclusive, welcoming youth of all backgrounds and
experience levels.

Whether your child is a seasoned 4-H member or brand new to the program, the Franklin County
4-H Day Camp offers a safe, supportive space to learn, grow, and have fun.
Registration closes July 7, 2025. The camp will be held at the Franklin County Penn State
