Family Favorite Stromboli

This recipe is one of our family favorites. You can make it in advance and freeze it for later. I usually make two at a time–one to eat immediately and one to freeze for later. Just double your ingredients accordingly. One serves 2-4 people.

Ingredients for one boli:

1/4 lb. sliced deli pepperoni

1/4 lb. hard salami

1/4 lb. cooked salami

1/4 lb. cooked ham

1/4 lb. sliced provolone cheese

1/4 lb. sliced mozarella cheese

1 loaf frozen bread dough

Marinara or pizza/pasta sauce

Directions:

Thaw bread dough and let rise per directions. (This takes about half a day, so plan accordingly!)

Place a layer of foil on a cookie sheet. Spray with non-stick spray. Put dough on foil-lined pan and use hands to spread out longways–long and wide enough to pile lunchmeat on with room leftover on the sides, top and bottom for folding over. Layer your cheeses first (I usually do about 5 slices per boli), then your meats. Pull the top, bottom and sides of dough inward and press seams to seal shut. Bake at 375 for about 35 min. or until boli begins to turn golden. Servce with red sauce of your choice.

NOTE: If making one to freeze, I just freeze it without baking first. Just wrap in plastic wrap and foil.
